Indonesian villagers severely butchered near 300 crocodiles after a man was murdered at a rearing homestead, experts have said.

Furnished with blades, mallets and clubs, villagers allegedly murdered 292 of the creatures in exact retribution after the man was assaulted subsequent to entering the ranch.

The 48-year-old casualty was presumably picking grass for creature feed when he was slaughtered, as indicated by Indonesia’s Natural Resources Conservation Agency.

Pictures discharged by nearby media indicate bloodied creature bodies heaped high in the Sorong area of the eastern Indonesian region of West Papua.

“A worker heard somebody shouting for help, he rapidly went there and saw a crocodile assaulting somebody,” said Basar Manullang, leader of the Natural Resources Conservation Agency.

After the casualty’s internment on Saturday, villagers entered the homestead and killed every one of the crocodiles, he included.

The ranch had been given a permit to breed the secured types of saltwater and New Guinea crocodiles in 2013 for preservation purposes and to reap a portion of the creatures.
